eyes4earth.org features a Twitter feed- ‘tweets’ – which can be on the homepage (bottom-right hand side) or at http://www.twitter.com/eyes4earth . The reason to incorporate such a feature on eyes4earth.org was to see if such a social media platform could be useful in providing a quicker way for readers like yourself to share nature inspirations and meaningful nature encounters as they occur…or as close as possible to ‘real-time’. .. on the street, in the park, in the garden, woods or wilderness (which is ironically and sadly fast becoming cyber-connected as well).
However, since Twitter can be seen as being synonymous with our information-soaked society where everyone is tweeting and noone really listening, we’ve tried to inject a bit of unique creativity to deviate from the norm. The eyes4earth ‘tweets’ are largely inspired by meaningful moments or ‘synchronicities’ which have arisen during time spent in nature… and usually on the wilderness outings associated with eyes4earth research into meaningful nature experience. The tweets will usually appear in short poetry format.
Visitors to this website are encouraged to follow eyes4earth.org on Twitter and tweet their own meaningful or uncanny experiences in nature as they occur. Though certainly don’t feel obliged to make them rhyme as well!
